SHIMANO’S ‘PACIFIC NORTHWEST SPORTSMEN’S SHOW’ EFFORTS OFFER REEL SERVICE CLINICS TO KEEP FISHING REELS PERFORMING AT THEIR BEST

LADSON, S.C. – February 2019 – Anglers throughout the greater
Portland, Ore. area will be offered Shimano reel service clinics, where Shimano service techs will
show the proper steps to ‘clean and lube’ fishing reels. The clinics will be conducted throughout all
five days of the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show on Feb. 6-10, 2019, within a special seminar
area at the Portland Expo Center.

Specific seminar times each day are noted on the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show
website at Pacific Northwest Sportsmen's Show, or stop by the Shimano booth – #130 – within
Exhibit Hall A.

As Shimano service tech Doug Bouse notes, “just like the standard maintenance done on
your vehicle – oil change, tire rotation, top off fluids, etc., basic maintenance on your fishing reels
will keep them ‘running well’ for years. At our reel service clinics, we’ll teach anglers how to take
reels apart, where to clean, and where to apply proper oil and grease on any Shimano reel –
conventional, baitcasting or spinning. And the best part, it’s all on Shimano.”
Due to expected large crowds, anglers as asked to bring only one Shimano reel to clean at
the service clinics. Each session will last around 45 minutes.

Along with the clinics, Shimano staff will be introducing new G. Loomis, PowerPro and
Shimano brand tackle, including the new G. Loomis E6X Steelhead rods, and ICAST Show award-
winning Super8Slick V2 braided fishing line and Tekota star drag reels.
