Avid angler Amir Kalabic proudly displays his second King of a two king a day limit for the Cowlitz river. The Cowlitz has been offering up some very good fishing, even with the warmer than normal temperatures. Anglers are turning in excellent catch count numbers making the Cowlitz river a destination of choice for salmon and steelhead fishing.
Eggs under a float have been very effective, as well as jigs with some Bloody Tuna scent on it. The Cowlitz river is one of the state best places for salmon and steelhead in the state. Up at the dam there is plenty of bank fishing available and is one of the better places to fish. Good luck and happy fishing
