Chinook Salmon Catch Limits and Regulations
- Southeast Alaska Catch Limit: The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) has set the 2025 preseason all-gear catch limit for Chinook salmon in Southeast Alaska at 133,500 fish, in accordance with the Pacific Salmon Treaty. To prevent exceeding this limit, ADF&G has implemented a 2% buffer, targeting a total catch of 130,850 Chinook salmon. The allocation is distributed among various fishing sectors as follows:
- Commercial Purse Seine: 5,620 fish
- Commercial Drift Gillnet: 3,800 fish
- Commercial Set Gillnet: 1,000 fish
- Commercial Troll: 92,730 fish
- Sport: 27,700 fish
- Sport Fishing Regulations: Effective April 3, 2025, through April 30, 2026, new sport fishing regulations for king salmon have been announced for Southeast Alaska and Yakutat.
