This young angler catches his first Coho on the Quilcene river.

First time angler Kirill Perfilev of Bremerton Washington lands his first Coho on the Big Quilcene River. New to the area young Perfilev joined friends and family for a day of fishing in Quilcene.  As school after school of Chum went swimming bye, only a few silvers had been seen, Perfilev never lost hope. After several casts he lands this little beauty.

Other anglers were having success as well, but the action was fairly slow due to huge Chum numbers in the river.  Although the Quilcene river opened late this year the Coho fishing is just now starting to pick up. One thing for sure after today, young Kirill is hooked for life.
